OVERVIEW
The 3MO ETV 2WD sequential gearbox has been designed to fit both front and rear-engined saloon and prototype race cars where the engine is mounted in the transverse position..
3MO’s extremely versatile ETV gearbox is well proven with over 500 units running in Motorsport vehicles around the world. This 500 Nm capable gearbox has been fitted to championship winning cars in Europe and Asia across Circuit, Road Racing, Hillclimb, Off-Road, Rally-Cross and Rally motorsport disciplines.
This 3MO transmission has been and is fitted to a number of Global OEM car manufacturer’s “one make race” programs. Some examples are:
- Citroen’s rally program with the DS3 R3
- Lamera’s 8, 10, 11, 12 and 30 hour circuit racing endurance events
- VW with their Polo and Ameo Cup Championships.
- The Kia Ceed TCR circuit racing program also uses this gearbox.
High torque handling capacity (350 Nm with short final drive ratios up to 500 Nm with long final drive ratios) combined with fitting flexibility makes this transmission extremely popular with race car drivers around the globe. There are two versions – one for clockwise rotating engines and another for counter clockwise rotating engines – e.g. Honda B Series.
To optimize race vehicle performance, there’s a wide range of gear ratios to choose from. When combined with the 10 final drive ratio options; there’s a ratio for almost every situation out there – be it on the tarmac, gravel or dirt. Gearbox lubrication is provided by either an external pump feeding internal oil galleries, or splash lubrication depending on the customers preference and budget.
The standard self-locking-differential has 3 plates and 12 friction discs with (40 °/ 60 °) or (30 °/ 60 °) ramps, and will meet customer needs in 90% of race conditions. However; for extreme applications there’s also a 4 plate with 16 friction disc option. Our differentials are fitted with new molybdenum-coated friction discs. Molybdenum is a high performance friction metal. It has a high level of elasticity and improves the characteristics of steel at high temperatures providing better progressiveness, higher coefficient of friction, and a longer service life. We have a range of gearbox accessories available too.
These gearboxes meet FIA R3 specifications for Rally, and TCR / WTCC & CTCC specifications for Circuit Racing. We have 3MO sequential transmissions for sale now.

NOTES
- This gearbox is defined for a ceramic single-disc clutch or Sintered double-disc 184mm max; with clutch disc (s)
- The original flywheel cannot be kept because it is not compatible with a rigid clutch 184mm.
- The box is designed to accommodate standard tulips Peugeot Citroën Boxer / Jumper in 41 grooves.
- A minimum 0.7″ master cylinder can be installed on your original clutch pedal.
- It is imperative to install an adjustable end stop on the clutch pedal, because the hydraulic stop does not have an output stop.
- Depending on your application an oil cooler may be recommended. A 13 row cooler measuring 210 x 98 x 50mm with AN6 inlet / outlet fittings will work well.
- Must use 75w140 fully synthetic lubricant – Motul Gear Competition is highly recommended
